Ponderosa & Thyme invites you to come join us for a week of floral design and nurturing your creative process in the beautiful city of Portland Oregon.

VENUE
This workshop will be held in one of our favorite Portland venues, the Union Pine Loft, a beautiful and naturally lit haven set in the Central Eastside across the Willamette River from Downtown. Surrounded by the urban inspiration of warehouses, train tracks, microbreweries and coffeeshops, we will immerse ourselves in floral design and beautifully prepared, locally sourced meals. You'll have the opportunity to make life long connections and friendships within our industry. We like to say, it's like summer camp with flowers and wine.

PHOTOGRAPHER
We are beyond delighted to have Erich McVey onsite photographing the workshop, including 2 beautifully styled shoots featuring all of the work made by the attendees and attendee headshots.

The photos of your work from these shoots may be used for your portfolio, website and social media.

WORKSHOP
Ponderosa workshops are designed for new and experienced florists as well as photographers, stylists, creatives and dreamers that want to grow and expand their skill set for more flexibility and creativity in their work.

This artist retreat will be dedicated to the process of finding your own personal creative flow and how you can approach floral design basics in a new way.

Discussions and 1:1 sessions will include floristry business basics like: How to source local materials, floral design technique, foraging basics, networking and collaborating with other industry professionals, creating styled photo shoots, getting your work published, social media presence/online image and creating a curated portfolio.

We'll also be covering topics like: creating sustainability for your creative practice, finding and defining your creative voice, turning your passion into your career and more!

ACCOMMODATIONS
While accommodations are not included in the workshop fee, there are many great options you can choose from, but please don’t hesitate to ask if you need suggestions. We are here to help!

We recommend: AirBnB, The ACE Hotel, The Bluebird Guesthouse (if you’d like other recommendations email: katie@ponderosaandthyme.com)

TRAVEL
Portland public transport and Über service is amazing! It’s affordable and easy to get around without needing to rent a car.

Attendees are responsible for all travel arrangements to get to the workshop (including airfare and car rental/bus/etc.)

FACEBOOK GROUP
Once you’ve signed up for the workshop we’ll add you to our private Facebook group and there you can team up with someone to share rooms/rides/transport if you’re so inclined.
